The Return to a Sad Home (Ch 7)

My father sent me a letter on May 12, which contained news that saddened my heart. My younger brother, William, was murdered. I felt like God was punishing me for what I had done, by making the people I love suffer. I quickly decided it was time to travel home. On my way I tried to comfort myself by looking at the surrounding scenery, but it didn't help. It started to rain, which soon turned into a down-pour; thunder resounded throughout the mountains. Lightning struck, within this light a familiar shape appeared, my creature! Had it just now come, was it following me? Then it all came to me, could my creature have been the one who murdered William? My soul was anguished; and just as quickly as the creature appeared, he disappeared.

I arrived at my house and stared at the pictures of my mother and brother. Ernest welcomed me and told me shocking news; William's murderer had been found! How is that possible I thought; the creature was free last night and he  disappeared into the mountains. "William's murderer is Justine Moritz", said Ernest. What? Justine is innocent it was the creature, I had already convinced myself of this. Elizabeth entered and also said she believed that Justine was innocent. But apparently there was evidence that proved she was the murderer. Now all I can do is wait for the trial and hope that a innocent person doesn't go to jail.

  1. I like that you added a good amount of detail about the surroundings. This post really shows what Victor is going through and what he thinks. I was thinking maybe adding a little more emotion to how Victor is feeling. He found out his mother died. He is experiencing many emotions that should be written down. Overall, I enjoyed this post.
